Im Vergleich zu anderen europäischen Ländern weist beispielsweise Spanien eine sehr hohe Fachkraft-Kind-Relation auf, d.h. eine geringe Anzahl von Erzieherinnen betreut relativ viele Kinder gleichzeitig. Da es spätestens mit drei Jahren für quick alle Kinder in Spanien selbstverständlich ist, einen kleinen oder großen Teil des Tages in einer Kindertageseinrichtung zu verbringen, ergibt sich die Frage, ob die dort vorherrschende hohe Fachkraft-Kind-Relation in Kindertageseinrichtungen (null bis sechs Jahre) Einfluss auf das Verhalten und die Entwicklung des Kindes hat.

Um diese Fragestellung beantworten zu können, werden zunächst einige einleitende Informationen zu Spanien und dem dortigen Erziehungs- und Bildungssystem gegeben. Nach dem Vergleich der Fachkraft-Kind-Relationen einiger europäischer Länder werden Resultate aus Längsschnittstudien vorgestellt, welche Bezug zu den Einflussmöglichkeiten der Fachkraft-Kind-Relation auf das Verhalten und die Entwicklung des Kindes nehmen. Abschließend wird erörtert, ob bzw. inwieweit diese Forschungsergebnisse auf das frühpädagogische Bildungssystem Spaniens übertragbar sind.
